MEET THE FOUNDER
I’m Ash Gregory.
I didn’t set out to be a legal policy campaigner. I set out to protect my relationship with my child when I needed it most.
Through both lived experience and education, I learned about what many describe as the silver bullet tactic in divorce — where a single fabricated allegation can trigger a hyper-vigilant, protection-first response, and the case can escalate so fast that time starts doing the damage before the truth is properly tested. A child’s routine can shift long before the evidence is properly examined.
Some parents reach a point where the battle feels like it leaves only two choices: quit on your child, or quit on yourself.
I realised there is a third choice: not quitting on your child, and not quitting on yourself — but doing something about what I see as the blind spots of the family court. So I created The Absent Parent
It is no lie: the family court process changes most people who enter it — for better or worse. It changed me too. During that chapter, I lost over nine stone — not as a slogan, but as a sign of how deeply this journey can reshape a person.
When they invented the plane, the pessimist invented the parachute.
LOTTIE’s Law (Loss Of Time Through Invented Evidence) is intended to be that parachute — a safeguard designed to stop drift becoming the outcome when a child’s meaningful relationship is at risk of being lost “by default”.
I’ve often been known to go too far. I’m actually proud of that. Will you go too far with me and support us?.

About The Absent Parent
Our Story
The Absent Parent was founded by author and campaigner Ash Gregory after witnessing first-hand the damage caused by post-separation abuse and parental alienation.
What began as one parent’s story has grown into a movement a space for truth, awareness, and reform in the family court system.
What Makes Us Different
We believe in Integrity, Transparency, and Justice not as slogans, but as guiding principles.
The Absent Parent isn’t just about awareness; it’s about accountability.
Through real stories, public surveys, and advocacy, we aim to restore honesty and evidence-led reform to family law
